Summary

In Chapter 10, Robert arrives in London for the funeral of his friend Liam. They used to work together at an advertising firm in London. Not long before Liam’s suicide, Liam had contacted Robert about possibly visiting Robert in Germany. Robert meets with a group of people who had also been acquainted with Liam, and they agree to accompany each other to the funeral. The acquaintances talk to each other about Liam. Robert finds himself struggling to accept the fact of Liam’s death. He is also still somewhat in shock at the fact that Liam had died of suicide. Liam had never seemed depressed, as far as Robert could tell. At the funeral home, Liam’s casket is open for the viewing, and Robert finds himself uncomfortable looking at the body.
