Summary
In Chapter 7, after his day’s interrogation, Peter wonders who among himself, Bunny and Millie are lying and who is telling the truth. He wonders if Smiley has already been questioned and if Millie knows where he is. He walks to an apartment on Baywater Street where Smiley and his wife once lived but the apartment is shut up and empty. He goes to another house that was once a safe house for the Circus but Smiley is not there either. The woman who answers advises him she will call the police if he does not go away.
Feeling sobered by her advice Peter goes to a cafe where he realizes he had been thinking about Christoph and the way he questioned Catherine. He hopes that someday Catherine will find a mate for herself, one whom odd Isabell will be able to look in...
