Summary
As this final section of the novel begins, Maurice is sitting in a pub on Brewer Street. He is now narrating his own story. Maurice goes to a different bar every day to systematically drink. If anyone were to ask who he was he would say that he used to be a writer but is now drunk. He was able to live quite comfortably off of book royalties, speaking engagements and the proceeds from selling Stori for seven figures. He still hoped to be able to write another novel, but as always, he never came up with a good idea. He moved back to London in hopes that the change of scenery might produce one.
