Summary
In 2010, her final year of law school, Brittany began examining the transcript from Sharanda’s trial. She was shocked at the false picture put forth by the prosecution – that Sharanda was a ‘queenpin’ heavily involved in drug dealing, even the primary supplier for the entire town of Terrell. The prosecution claimed that all of Sharanda’s achievements, such as her care for her mother, her hair salon, and the diner, were part of a front that Sharanda created to make herself look legitimate while she primarily focused on drug dealing. The Department of Justice seemed to shift the blame for drug dealing from major players such as Spider onto Sharanda, which was both completely unethical and illogical to Brittany.
