Summary
Dovaleh asks his audience if he can tell a joke, but two women shout for him to keep telling his story. He shares how the driver's sister pressed him for details about his family until he finally admits that his father and he get along better, "but it's better with Mom" (174). Young Dovaleh grew jealous of the two siblings, and he wondered how they maintained their bond when their brother had passed away. His mind roamed through topics such as how animals act and how his parents would threaten to leave him when he would not eat his food.
