Chapter 10 Summary and Analysis

Dave returns to Chicago one December to attend the wedding of a school friend. While there Dave decides he will visit his childhood home and the funeral parlor where his parents' bodies were processed before being donated to a local college. Dave imagines going to the college and talking to the professor in charge of the bodies, to ask what it was like when he cut into his mother's stomach. Dave is obsessed with the image his imagination provides in answer to this question and he needs to know the real answer.
