Chapter 4 Summary and Analysis
Dave does not go out because he needs to be at home with Toph. Dave spends his nights, instead of in the company of some pretty young woman, watching videos and eating popsicles with Toph. In fact, Dave does not even date much because he is afraid of introducing Toph to a woman who would not be around for long. Not only that, but Dave feels he should only seriously date women who understand his circumstances. Therefore, most of Dave's dates are with women with whom he is only having fun. At this particular time, Dave is dating an older woman. Dave has certain fears of seeing this woman naked, but otherwise is enjoying their casual relationship.
