Summary

In Chapter 10, after science class, Shayla trips over her backpack. Bernard grabs her by one hand and jerks her up. Shayla is overjoyed when Jace comments that Bernard is trying to “break” (53) Shayla and smiles at her.

At break, Shayla and Julia are surprised to see that Isabella has gotten her braces taken off. She also has had her brows waxed so her unibrow is gone. Shayla notes that Jace smiled at her. Julia says that as attractive as Jace is he will probably wind up dating someone beautiful. As she speaks, she looks at Isabella.
