Summary
In Chapter 4, “Miracle on Upper Street,” Bob woke Bowen. After filling the meter, Bowen had rewarded himself by sleeping in (72). On television, the meteorologists forecast more snow. Bowen gave Bob “the option of staying” home, but Bob joined him for the day (73). Bowen dressed Bob in his “Santa Paws outfit” before leaving (74).
Their bus ride abruptly ended when the streets clogged with traffic due to the snow. Bowen and Bob walked the rest of the way to Angel. While ambling along the messy walks, Bowen slipped and fell. He hurt himself and broke his guitar. Although discouraged, Bowen “had to press on” (78).
Bob’s Christmas outfit attracted attention. Bowen was making decent money. After a while, familiar faces began approaching Bowen and Bob. Everyone was glad to see them. More supporters gave Bowen cards. One woman gave him £40. Bowen was moved. Another series...
