Red London serves as the primary setting of the novel. Compared to other Londons, it has a similar layout, but differently-named businesses, buildings, people, and is most notable for the red-colored river which runs through it. Red London serves as the capital city of the Arnesian Empire, where Maxim, Emira, Rhy, and Kell, live and reign in the palace. Red London plays host to the Element Games, the construction of the arenas for which Rhy oversees. Tens of thousands of people from the three major empires come to Red London for the Games, including Emery and Lila. It is in Red London that Lila not only participates in the Games, but sees and kisses Kell. It is from Red London that Kell is kidnapped late in the novel.
