Summary

Braden, Darryl, and Santat amuse themselves on the long plane ride with card games and movies like Rain Man. The plane lands at Charles de Gaulle Airport. As Santat gathers his bag, he is yelled at because he does not understand that the man is telling him to move to the side in French. He then meets Amy Glucksbringer, another girl on the trip. She tells him that he mistakenly took her bag because they all look identical.

The tour guide, Hank, tells the students that their group will be together for three weeks traveling to five different countries. The students on the trip are from Los Angeles and St. Louis.
