Nathan ‘Nate’ Michaels

Nate is a law student when he first meets Jack Kennedy. Jack is already the author of a best selling book when they meet, an impressive young man who clearly has a good future. Nate feels overshadowed by Jack, which makes Jack happy. Nate enjoys his friendship with Jack and does not mind being left in the shadows. That changes, however, when Nate finds Jack in bed with his girlfriend.

Twenty-two years later, Jack wants Nate to help with the Cuban Missile Crisis. Nate was once friends with the head of the KGB in the United States.
