Chapters 43 through 46 Summary

In Brienne, Brienne spends the next several days coming in and out of terrible dreams. She is surprised to be alive, but alive she is. When she finally wakes up in a cave, her fever has broken. She has been stripped of her sword and armor, and clothed in a woolen shift. Her arm has been set and is in a splint, and her face has been bandaged. As she calls out, she startles an old man awake. He tells her that the sister of the girl at the inn set her arm, and that they had to cut out some of the flesh around her cheek, as Biter's bites had caused infection and her fever.
