Summary

In Chapter 19, Gavin and Bella go out looking for Dutch. They find him in the neighborhood, and Gavin cuddles Dutch to give him comfort. Dutch slowly begins to feel better as the days pass and as Gavin gives Dutch more attention. When Taylor, Gavin, Bella, and Dutch go for a drive one day, Bella suddenly realizes she has lost her sense of smell of home. Bella soon learns that Gavin and Taylor have gone to visit Gavin’s mom, Sylvia. Sylvia has a cat named Chloe. Sylvia explains she has broken up with her boyfriend, Mike, because of his alcoholism, and that her other cat, Mike, was run over by a car. Sylvia will be watching Bella and Dutch while Gavin and Taylor are in China. Dutch is saddened by their departure.
