Sherkaner Underhill

A Spider, Sherkaner Underhill is something of a dreamer and has many great ideas about research to be used by the military. It's Sherkaner's idea to have a small group come out of cold sleep early in order to attack their opposition's military center. Sherkaner is a free-thinker and doesn't believe that he should be confined by the dictates of society. He marries a young general named Victory Smith and the two have six out-of-phase children. Sherkaner cares deeply for the children and is furious with himself when the four older ones are kidnapped. Sherkaner is a dreamer and comes up with the idea that the Spiders can remain above ground during the Dark if they harness atomic power. However, like most of his caliber, he soon loses interest in projects and moves on to other ideas. Sherkaner becomes enamored with the idea that there are aliens...
