Part 2, Chapter 3 Summary
As Solly is helping Maisie dress for the evening, he tells her about Hugh Pilaster joining their bank and that he has suggested that Maisie help Nora in the area of social niceties. That night she talks to the Hungarian count about the incident at the costume ball and discovers that the impetus came from Micky and Rachel. The next day Nora tells her that Augusta told her not to let the count make any advances. Maisie explains how Augusta and Micky set up the whole situation.
