Summary
The next day, Fayre realizes that Tamlin has removed all the glamours from his court. She now sees every faerie, even people she has never seen before. She finds Tamlin, who tells her he had glamoured her to avoid being spotted by dangerous creatures. He says the blight is returning and more beasts will be around. The next day, Fayre finds a head of a High Fae on a pike in the garden. Tamlin reveals the head was a member of the Night Court. Tamlin calls it a prank and promises Fayre that she will be safe.
The court prepares for the summer solstice as Tamlin is called away for unknown business. When he returns, the celebration starts. Fayre gets drunk on faerie wine and dances uncontrollably to music Tamlin is playing. He then takes her to a meadow where will-o’-the-wisps...
