Summary

Duke Henri is furious, demanding that Rollo leave the house as no riots have begun and Coligny is alive. Pierre is genuinely scared of Henri and tries to explain himself. However, Pierre is humiliated and Henri says that nothing Pierre does works. However, Pierre says they should act as if the rebellion has started. Pierre can ring the bell that will tell the Catholic nobleman to attack their assigned Protestants. He tells Henri to arm the militia, but Henri does not believe he can convince the mayor to do that. Pierre promises he can figure it out, even though he secretly has no idea what he will do.
