Summary

Margery’s wedding is postponed because Bart must raise a garrison in anticipation of a French invasion. While the people blame Queen Mary for marrying the king of Spain, Ned is happy that he has a chance to convince Margery to leave with him. He is certain that she is the woman he wants. Ned goes to the harbor to see Bart hope, hoping that he will not return or will change his mind about marrying Margery. Ned sees that Margery looks much different than he remembers. Instead of happy and expressive, she looks miserable. Ned wishes he could take her away, but knows that he cannot do anything since she does not want him to. As a boat arrives, he meets his cousin named Albin from Calais. Albin tells Ned that his own family is dead and they have lost everything. Ned...
