Chapter 42, Tyrion Summary

Tyrion Lannister is at the dock in King's Landing, seeing off Myrcella Baratheon, who is going to Dorne with Ser Arys, where she will live until she marries the son of Prince Doran Martell. Tyrion is suprised how well Myrcella is taking it. Tyrion is nervous about sending the ships with her, since their fleet is already small. When they are back, Dorne will pretend to be making a move to make Stannis' men uneasy, but he will not actually fight unless the city of Dorne is attacked. Myrcella will be safe by this time, and Tyrion doesn't believe Stannis will try to capture Myrcella. Tyrion meets with Cersei Lannister and Ser Lancel, who tells Tyrion in private that Cersei has hired mercenaries to protect her from Tyrion.
