Chapter 18, Tyrion Summary

Tyrion Lannister meets with Grand Maester Pycelle, who watches the ravens over breakfast and gives him two letters to send to Prince Doran Martell. He doesn't tell him what the letters contain, although Pycelle is interested. While Pycelle is gone, Tyrion takes a potion from Pycelle's stock of potions. When Pycelle returns, Tyrion says to notify him as soon as a reply comes. Tyrion next meets Bronn, who tells him several people are looking for him, including Ser Alliser Thorne, who has a rotted hand in a jar. Tyrion does not want to see him. Tyrion runs into Cersei, who is preparing to ride into the city to check the city's defenses. She has heard Renly Baratheon is marching on the city with a host of men. Tyrion has also heard this, but he says Renly is stopping at every place...
