Gwendolyn MacGil is the daughter of former King MacGil, who confessed before he died that he wished her to take power in his kingdom. She is intelligent, well-read, beautiful, and completely in love with the warrior Thor. Gwen proves herself to be a fierce opponent against her brother Gareth, who became king through force and attempted to assassinate their other brother Godfrey for fear that he would become the next king. Gwen also manages to save Godfrey from deadly poison and Thor from a sneak attack by McCloud's forces at the same time, by offering herself up for sacrifice.
