Summary
Chapter 9
Erec races down the Southern Lane on his horse. His wife Alistair has been forced into slavery and he seeks to free her from the city of Baluster, the center of crime in the kingdom. He rushes past the city guards, approaches an Inn, and pays the bartender for information. Erbot, the man who took Erec's wife, can be found in his den nearby, according to the barkeeper. Erec races toward it and forces himself inside. He tells one of the men there the name of whom he is looking for, and that man tells him that Alistair has been sold. Two men move in to throw Erec out, but he disables them both, and the first man says he sold her to a lord who has a castle west of Baluster. Erec kills the man and begins setting the women in...
