Chapter 7 Summary

Vincent and Jackie walk back into the kitchen and find Tiny baking cookies and Marguerite sitting at the table. Tiny explains that cooking helps him to relax, especially after Jackie gets one of her "hinky" feelings. Tiny further explains that Jackie's "hinky" feelings are always right, and it always means that something really bad is about to happen. Jackie had that same feeling the night Tiny got shot while they were in pursuit some men in a case for Bastien.

Jackie and Vincent go and change into dry clothing and when Jackie hears Vincent on the office phone she enters and waits for him. She immediately notices that the list of employee names is missing off the table and the balcony door is ajar. They are puzzled as to why the alarms didn't go off and Vincent remembers that the alarm wasn't even...
