Tracey’s Home

The isolated farmhouse that Tracey shares with Vivienne is the subject of a pair of search warrants that Gamache and other officers conduct in the investigation of Vivienne’s disappearance. The first time Gamache and the officers search Tracey’s house, they are looking for clues as to what might have happened to Vivienne. They are unable to find anything. When they return to the house after having found Vivienne’s body, they discover that Tracey has thrown away all of Vivienne’s belongings even though he did not return to the house between the time her body was found and the search warrant was issued. Officers also note that Tracey cleaned his house with bleach before the search warrant could be executed, a sign of guilt.
