Summary
In Chapter 5, the commander of the local police referred Gamache and Cloutier to Robert “Bob” Cameron, a huge man with scarring and deformities on his face whom Gamache thought he recognized. When Gamache saw the man’s ring, he realized Cameron had formerly been a football player. Cameron had a gentle voice that indicated to Gamache he did not want to promote himself as a brute.
Cameron said he had answered the abuse calls, but Vivienne would not let him do anything to help her. He gave her the name of a woman’s shelter. However, he had already checked and knew she was not there. He believed that she had gone to stay at a motel, in an attempt to get away from Tracey.
