Summary

Chapter 2.4 returns to timeline number four. Stanley’s wealth and business continue to grow, and 13-year-old Ferguson no longer wishes to live at home. He asks his parents to send him to boarding school, but they refuse. Stanley finds his parents’ life of wealth stifling. Rose has closed her photography studio at Stanley’s suggestion because there was no financial need for it. Don and Mildred have reunited, which makes Stanley happy. Stanley is still good friends with Noah Marx. Ferguson and Noah attend Camp Paradise together in 1961, and Ferguson befriends a new boy there named Artie Federman. Ferguson and Artie share a deep love of playing baseball. However, one day, Artie suddenly falls to the ground and lies motionless. Stanley panics after realizing that he is dead.
