Part Two Summary
In chapter six, Floyd wakes himself from hibernation. Dr. Rudenko asks him how he feels. Captain Orlova is also in the room, and Heywood realizes she has grown her hair back since he last saw her. When he mentions this to her, she points out to him that he's growing a beard, although it is just stubble since the hibernation process slows hair growth down considerably. Orlova informs him that they are still a month away from Jupiter, and that he's been woken up early because they suddenly find themselves in a race to get to Discovery, with very little chance of winning.
In chapter seven, Floyd's wife, Caroline, listens and watches a message sent to her from her husband. According to the transmission, he's been woken up early because the Chinese have secretly built a shuttle, Tsien, and sent it...
