Point of View

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson is written entirely in the first-person perspective of the main character, Virginia Blackstone. The story is told reliably and the narration is consistent throughout. Virginia, or Ginny as she is known by all, takes a leap of faith when she follows the directions set out for her in a series of envelopes that are assembled by her now deceased Aunt Peg. Peg begins by directing Ginny to go to her last known residence with her back pack packed and ready to go.
