Summary
When Dean and Boyle began dropping bombs on Taliban targets, Dean was frustrated because the bombs kept missing the targets. He finally realized the air was so hot that it carried a brown haze. This haze was bending the lasers, causing them to give false coordinates. They had hoped to keep the Taliban from Ak Kupruk but as the sun went down Dean and the others could see fires in that village. One of the Afghans said the Taliban had set fire to the homes of the men who were fighting with Atta. Dean and the others wanted to attack the Taliban in Ak Kupruk the following day but could not do so because Dostum and his men were not in place yet.
