Audio book versions of The Two Towers have been published both on cassette and compact disc in an abridged version by Random House Audio (2001) and unabridged by Recorded Books Unabridged, the latter read by Rob Inglis. The 1978 Ralph Bakshi animated film titled The Lord of the Rings does not, in reality, chronicle the events of the entire work, but only those of The Fellowship of the Ring and some selected events from The Two Towers. A live-action version of The Two Towers, directed by Peter Jackson, has been completed and scheduled for 2002 release at the time of this writing.
