In the main, the twelve stories of Graveyard Girl take place in the fictional town of Lee, which is based on Lewis's home community of Uxbridge, Ontario, a place of some 8,000 people. For the book launch of Graveyard Girl in Uxbridge, Lewis created a car rally which took participants to some of the places in Uxbridge which were fictionally recreated in the stories.
