There are many books one can find today that share similar themes and characters to Klause's Blood and Chocolate. It seems that Klause's work has only further inspired more authors to contribute to the already booming genre of juvenile horror fiction. Matthew T. Anderson's Thirsty (1997), published around the same time as Blood and Chocolate, focuses upon a teenage vampire living in Massachusetts. Demon in My View (2000), by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, focuses on a young author who writes novels about vampires and then is actually confronted with one of the characters of her books at her high school. A book very similar in theme and character depiction to Klause's Blood and Chocolate is Vivian Vande Velde's The Changeling Prince (1998), which focuses upon a sixteen-year-old werewolf named Welland, who like Vivian, is growing tired of the tensions between his daytime and nighttime worlds.
