Alibrary may be defined as an extensive storehouse of information that is classified for quick retrieval. Because a college or university library can provide you with up-to-date information on almost any subject, you need to learn how useful your library can be as a resource center. Most academic libraries provide brochures and booklets designed to help you locate materials. Often these booklets contain floor plans and descriptions of collections that may interest you. Using the brochure, take the time to walk through the library and pay attention to what is available. Ask the librarians for assistance in becoming acquainted with your library. If you are fortunate enough to have a librarian or an instructor introduce you to the library, pay special attention to those library services that may prove invaluable.
