Brenda Paik Sunoo

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed in 1990 to address the disabled's high unemployment rate, which some attributed to employer discrimination and inaccessible workplaces. In compliance with the ADA, employers must make workplace modifications to accommodate the disabled. Brenda Paik Sunoo asserts in the following viewpoint that the ADA has accomplished its goal of improving employment opportunities and working conditions for the disabled. In the author's opinion, employers are reaching out to the disabled with more acceptance and are less inclined to consider a disabled employee a liability as a result of the ADA.
