Elizabeth Weiss Vollstadt has extensive experience writing about medical issues. In addition to freelance work, she spent several years as Manager of Publications for Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, where she wrote and produced brochures, newsletters, a consumer magazine, and a one-hundred-year history of the hospital. She holds a B.A. from Adelphi University and an M.A. from John Carroll University, both in English. Her stories for young people have appeared in publications such as the Highlights for Children anthologies, Children's Digest, Jack and Jill, My Friend, and The Christian Family Christmas Book. She has also taught English and writing to students from grade seven through college. She now lives in DeLand, Florida, with her husband, where she divides her time between writing and boating on the Saint Johns River.
