John Feinstein

A college education should not be a requirement for basketball players, John Feinstein argues in the following viewpoint. Fein- stein contends that, while the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) should ensure that prospective college athletes do not cheat on their college entrance exams, the National Basketball Association (NBA) should establish a developmental league for those athletes who do not want to enter college immediately after high school. He asserts that such a program would offer athletes the option to enter college later in life, if they so choose, or play in other basketball leagues if they do not become NBA players.
