John R. Garrison

John R. Garrison is chief executive of the American Lung Association, a voluntary health agency. In the following viewpoint, he argues that secondhand smoke, also called environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), is harmful to nonsmokers. Scientific investigations by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other sources have conclusively linked ETS with increased risks of lung cancer, heart disease, and other health problems.
