Homophobia should be treated the same way as racism and sexism —it should not be tolerated in American society. Homophobia and gay and lesbian families should become a part of schools' discrimination and multiculturalism curriculum so that children can learn to be more accepting of those who are different. A photo exhibit of gay and lesbian families in one school successfully introduced the concept that different kinds of families are similar to their own families.
