This radical environmental movement conducts direct-action campaigns in defense of the last wild places like the old-growth forests of the Pacific Northwest. Followers of Earth First! use a combination of education, litigation, and civil disobedience, like tree sitting and roadblocking, to stop logging in the ancient forests. Earth First! has no central staff or office. To find out about the movement, people may contact Earth First! Journal, published eight times a year, which includes information on Earth First! and other radical environmental groups.
