There has been wide criticism leveled by the national press at Antioch College's Sexual Consent Policy. Because the Antioch Policy requires verbal consent prior to a sexual episode, it should not be considered repressive. Rather, it creates a situation where both parties involved in a sexual encounter are fully aware of the limits to which that encounter should be carried. In this way, it fosters a healthy social environment where consent eliminates the possibility of alleged coercion.
