Drew Kodjak

In the following viewpoint, Drew Kodjak contends that electric vehicles (EVs) are much cleaner than gasoline-powered automobiles and better for the environment. Gasoline vehicles emit more pollutants from their exhaust and during refueling than do EVs, as do the oil refineries and ships and trucks that transport the fuel. Cleaner air is an immediate benefit with electric cars, Kodjak asserts, while the benefits of more stringent regulations and cleaner gasoline vehicles must wait until the older, dirtier vehicles are replaced. Kodjak is an attorney for mobile sources at Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management in Boston, an interstate association of air quality control agencies.
