Some commentators claim that the media are not liberal as so many charge but truly conservative. In reality, most newspaper reporters and television news anchors vote reliably for Democratic candidates. While conservatives have made a few gains on editorial pages and the cable FOX News channel, there are few Republicans in most newsrooms.
"What Liberal Media"" blared the monster headline atop the fullpage ad in The New York Times. Its author was Eric Alterman of The Nation, who has a book out of the same title.
