Allan Levite
In the following viewpoint, Allan Levite argues that political liberals are treated much more sympathetically by the major news media than are political conservatives. He draws this conclusion from a number of quantitative studies showing that words critical of conservatives appear much more frequently in news reports than words critical of liberals. The author believes that this liberal bias stems in part from the fact that liberals are drawn to the profession of journalism. Levite is a research fellow at the Independent Institute in Oakland, California, and the author of Guilt and Politics.
