Edward P. Djerejian
In the subsequent viewpoint, Edward P. Djerejian contends that the United States should strengthen its support of moderate Muslim governments, promote the rise of free market economies within the Muslim world, and foster a dialogue among different religious groups. Although the United States should take a leadership role in the development of Muslim countries, he warns that the United States should resist imposing Western political models on traditional societies.
