Coalition to Stop Gun Violence
The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) is composed of over forty civic, professional, and religious organizations that advocate a ban on the sale and possession of handguns and assault weapons. The following viewpoint is excerpted from a CSGV brochure promoting the licensing and registration of firearms. The coalition argues that licensing would help reduce gun violence by requiring purchasers to undergo a background check (thus screening out criminals and minors) and to complete a gun safety course.
