In their efforts to prove conclusively that ghosts exist, some ghost hunters have turned to technology. They use normal and infrared photography, tape recorders, electromagnetic detectors, thermal imaging, and other simple and sophisticated tools to measure atmospheric conditions and various kinds of energy. They hope these tools will enable them to catch and analyze anomalies. Ghost hunters also study weather conditions, water tables, and how a building settles to try to eliminate every possible normal physical cause of ghostly effects. If some effects cannot be explained, there may be proof of a ghost.
Ghost hunter Joshua P. Warren, along with three friends, visited a hotel in Asheville, North Carolina, that is famous for its ghost, the Pink Lady. In the following selection, Warren gives his account of their investigation.
