Gary Comstock

In the following viewpoint Gary Comstock asserts that ethical claims against genetically modified (GM) foods are not sound. For example, Comstock argues, the claim that producing GM foods is playing God fails to consider that according to some religions, God approves of science and other human endeavors because they improve the human condition. Moreover, according to Comstock, genetically modifying crops is little different from other long-accepted agricultural practices. Comstock is the coordinator of the bioethics program at Iowa State University.
