Carolyn Graglia The sexual revolution, a movement endorsed by many feminists in the 1960s, encouraged women to reject the double standard that tolerated male promiscuity while expecting women to be sexually reticent. F. Carolyn Graglia asserts in the subsequent viewpoint that the sexual revolution has had a harmful effect on women. Prior to the sexual revolution, she claims, women controlled the sexual aspects of their relationships with men; most women chose to forgo premarital sex, at least until marriage was imminent.
