Frank S. Zepezauer
In the following viewpoint Frank S. Zepezauer argues that the Violence Against Women Act, a package of laws and programs designed to prevent domestic violence and provide protection to battered women and sexual assault victims, advances a feminist agenda that is unfair to men. Zepezauer asserts that men pay more taxes than women do to support programs that benefit only women. Furthermore, he contends, the act is unjust because more men are victims of crime than women, and many of those crimes are domestic violence crimes perpetuated by women against men. The best way to reduce domestic violence is to preserve the traditional family, he maintains. Zepezauer is secretary of the Men’s Defense Association, a fathers’ advocacy group.
